Student on a Chromebook

Good Afternoon!

We had a great evening last night passing out over 450 Chromebooks to our students in two sessions. As stated before, this opportunity for our students to have a technological tool to help advance education and engagement has been a long time coming. Thank you to our Board of Education and our Technology Committee for their hard work and commitment over the last year!

Remember, students should keep cords at home for nighttime charging and only bring the Chromebook itself to school each day.

We had some families who were unable to attend last night to acquire their students Chromebook. This was anticipated and I'd like to describe the process for attaining their child’s device.

The remaining Chromebooks to be distributed have been taken to the offices of the elementary and middle school. This is where they can be picked up from parents.

  • Please call your child school office at 618-632-7434 (ext. 200 for SES and 104 for SMS) to schedule a time for Chromebook pickup.
  • It is anticipated that it will take less than 10 minutes for parents to review our presentation from last night, acquire, and sign the Chromebook User Agreement.
  • At that time, parents can take their child’s Chromebook, charging block, and cord with them.

*Please understand, Chromebooks cannot be given to students and must be initially distributed to the student’s parents.

We look forward to distributing those few remaining devices so that all of our students have the opportunity for equitable access.

Have a Great Weekend!
